Interview with Moelogo aka 'The Baddest' !!!!!

Today we have the pleasure of interviewing, 

rising Afrobeats sensation,the very talented,
MOELOGO!!!

1.    Tell us who Moelogo is.

         "Moelogo is a young man , very talented , hardworking and someone that's always        trying to make a difference. "  

2.       How did you come up with the name Moelogo and what does it mean?

    "Its was pretty easy, myself and manager came up with it ... Mohammed been my name and music is what people know me for.. Hence why its called MoeLogo." 

3.       What age did you start singing and is music something you always wanted to do?

"I started singing from a young age with my nan at church, but i started taking it seriously at the age of 19." 

4.       You could have done other music genres, why Afro-beats? 

"I did tbh, I was into r n b and i still am, but i discovered i could merge the fusion of both sounds and create something unique, so i tried it and i believe it's working."

5.       A lot of artists say that it can be tough breaking into the industry, what are some of the challenges you had to overcome?

"It's true and the hardest challenge i faced and that you could ever face being an entertainer/ artist is being disciplined, staying humble and keeping that hunger alive."

6.       You released your first hit single ‘The Baddest’ last year; can you tell us where the inspiration came from?

"The inspiration came from myself .. Just showing the world like listen .. I've arrived and there's more to me and i will reveal soon."

7.       You have an original version of ‘The Baddest’ and you also have a remix version with Giggs, which was a huge success. How did the collaboration with Giggs happen?

"I believe both was accepted well, but I would not lie the version with Giggs gave me that extra glory and stamp into the industry and i appreciate the supporters and radio for getting behind it." 

8.       Would you say Giggs being on the track, put you on a bigger platform?

"Yes most definitely."

9.       Are you the ‘Baddest’? 

MOELOGO is the baddest at what he does :)

10.   Which other artists would you like to work with?

"Wretch 32 , Tinie Tempah , Fuse ODG , Skepta , Lethal Bizzle , Calvin Harris, Krept n Konan and so on."

11.   After ‘The Baddest’, you released a remix/updated version of ‘My Sweetie’, which was fantastic by the way, but why that song?

"Labels choice at that moment ( Island Records ), at first i was like no no but because i know the song and really love it, I thought let me risk it and give it my spin."

12.   A lot of Afrobeats artists that started out in the UK, like Tiwa Savage, Lola Rae etc. ended up moving to Nigeria, is that something you are or would consider? 

"NO... I believe whatever works for others doesn't necessarily mean i have to embark on same journey .. I believe UK is my home and I have to continue working so hard and let my music take me places, but relocating.. Na that's not me.. I stay loyal to my city that has showed me love from day 1."

13.   You recently released ‘Te Ota E Mole’ can you tell your non-Nigerian fans, what that means and what the song is about?

"The song means ( step on your haters or enemies ) and i wrote that song because there was a moment I was feeling a little bit down with certain people and i felt like there was too much negative force around me, so that motivated me to make that song.. Just stating no matter what i will be victorious."

14.   I read it somewhere, that you turned down an offer from ‘DEF JAM’ is that true?

"I wouldn't say i turned it down.. I just wasn't ready and my heart was not in it at that moment of time 🙏🏿 but if they call for me now I'm ready 😂 ."

15.   What is your favorite song right now?

" 'Do You Love Me' by Myself Moelogo."

16.   If you could do anything else apart from singing, what would it be?

"Ermmm ... Tbh let me not lie nothing else lol."

17.   You have a lot of female fans, how do you deal with the attention?

"I pray to GOD to guide me as they come along 😂."

18.   You have been nominated for best African act at the ‘Urban Music Awards 2015’, Congratulations, how do you feel and who are some of the other nominees?

"I am so excited about it ... Its good to be recognized for your talent.. And my fellow brothers ( Fuse ODG , Mista Silva and Silvastone are up for nominations so no lease go vote for all of us.. 1love."

19.   Tell us one thing we would be surprised to know about you?

"I can write a HOT jam in 20mins and it will be very good and i receive melodies like super fast 😂."

20.   Can you tell us about some of the projects you are currently working on? What can your fans expect from ‘MOELOGO’ in 2016 or before the end of the year if we are lucky? 

"I have something for all my supporters before the end of the year and 2016, lets put GOD 1st and as we enter next year... Moelogo saga will continue and will get better and bigger #inshaallah."
