Talented American singer, Jennifer Hudson's mother (57-year-old Darnell Donnerson), brother (Jason, 29) and nephew (Julian King, 7) were all murdered in 2008. The police arrested Jennifer's brother in law, William Balfour who at that time had just separated from Jennifer's sister and Julian's mother, Julia . Julia was at work when the murder of her brother and mother occurred and was the first to discover their bodies. The police arrested Balfour because he had the keys to the SUV where Julian's body was found, on him when he was arrested by the police . He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

'I didn't have nothing to do with the case and don't know who had anything to do with the case,' Balfour said at the start of the interview,
Balfour claims that he was framed and that people lied on the stand, including his ex-wife and Julia. Both women said that he had threatened to kill them in the past. He said 'Not one time did I ever threaten her, period.'
He then spoke about Julian, saying; 'This was a child that I used to see all the time, tried to get him to ride a bike, all the time. I mean... I don't know... Do I miss him? Yea. Do I love him? Yea.' Balfour said; 'I didn't have nothing to do with her family being killed. Period.'
Balfour was also asked why anyone should believe him given the number of people who testified against him and the evidence presented, however circumstantial.
'I mean it's up to them to make sense out of it. Because if you make a statement and the statement don't add up to the way the murders happen - then it's a problem. That's reasonable doubt,' said the career criminal, who had previous arrests for attempted murder, burglary, drug dealing and car theft before his conviction.
