Stay tuned as he talks about his life, music career, future and of course his latest Hit-Single 'OTI TO' featuring 'Mista Silva'.
Where are you from originally?
Originally, I am from Nigeria. I was born there, but I moved to the UK when I was in primary school.
When did you start your music career?
To be honest, I started from a very young age, but it used to just be for fun. I started taking my music more seriously and made it my career when I got signed after Kilode
You’re a rapper, how would you describe your rap style?
I have a very commercial style, but lyrically I am a story teller whether it is to do with girls or life.
Do you sing and rap or just rap?
I rap mainly, but I do a bit of singing.
Who is your favourite rapper?
Hmm that’s a hard one. I think I have to say 2Pac, I listened to him a lot as I was growing up, I still do now. He was a very talented musician.
You have a new single out right now ‘ OTI TO’, tell us what the song is about!!
The song is basically about girls that act prestige, look the part, but basically are a tease, so Oti To basically means its enough, calm down.
‘ OTI TO’ features MISTA SILVA. How did you guys meet?
Me & Silva have been friends for a while, we used to go to university together and have just stayed in contact since.
You recently shot a video for ‘OTI TO ‘, what is the Video concept or do we have to
wait to see it?
wait to see it?
You have to wait to see it, it’s a statement video, just know you will love it!
What made you go into the African music industry?
I have always loved African music, it is home music to me, it takes me back to my roots.
You opened for Ice prince and Fuse ODG; tell us what the experience was like!!
It was a great experience, Fuse it’s a good friend of mine so that was fun performing with him. Ice Prince was a blast, it was crazy. I did not just get to meet him, but I performed on the same stage as him.
Would you say that it has helped you with your music career?
I would not say it helped me, but I gained experience for what the music industry would be like for me.
How many singles have you got out right now?
I have 3 official singles out at the moment Kilode, Obimo, and Oti To. You can find Obimo on my soundcloud and Oti To is now available for download on iTunes.
Do you have other songs that you have not released? If yes when are you planning on releasing them?
I have so many singles that are unreleased, I love to make music. I have no planned released dates yet, just trying to make sure I release them at the right now.
Have you collaborated with any other artist ?
I have, but I do not want to let anything out yet, it’s a surprise for all of you lol.
Who would you like to collaborate with?
I would like to work with Sakordie, Burna Boy, Ice Prince and R2bess, I’ve been in talks with a couple of them, so only time will tell.
Are you signed to any record label yet?
I’m signed under an independent label GabrielleMusic/Wacckkaaa Entertainment
We have quite a few, female African Artist. If you had a chance to take one of them out for a date, who would it be?
Lola Rae, she is very pretty. Tiwa Savage, I know she’s engaged but I’m sure she wouldn’t mind a date with me for one night lol.
If you had the chance to do something else apart from rapping, what would it be?
If you had the chance to do something else apart from rapping, what would it be?
To be honest, music is my one and only love, but if I was to try anything else it would be acting. I have been in talks with some directors from Nigeria, so you never know, you could see me on your screens in the near future.
Are you planning on releasing an album soon?
An album is definitely on the agenda.
So what can people expect from Jeff Jones?
The next move is to go to Nigeria and Ghana to do some work with some of the artists out there and just establish myself more.
